Will I have to wait? We do have a waiting list for our service but we will keep you updated with the waiting times. We can also provide care calls to you while you're waiting to check in with how you're doing.
Who can access the service? Men and women living in Kirklees, affected by pregnancy choices, birth trauma, pregnancy termination (including for medical reasons), ectopic pregnancy, still birth, baby removal into care, miscarriage and baby loss.
How much counselling is offered? Although many of our clients come with similar emotions, every situation is unique. Once you contact us or are referred into the service our counselling manager will call to assess your need and set up a counselling program based on your situation and matching you with one of our trained or training counsellors.
Where and when are the appointments? Face to face appointments can be planned in our Huddersfield town centre facilities or we can also offer remote appointments by phone or video We can offer appointments out of work/school/college hours and can offer wheelchair users appointments at other venues.
Who are the Talkthru counsellors? We currently have 7 volunteer counsellors at Talkthru. All our counsellors have counselling accreditations at an appropriate level, and Talkthru provides additional more specific training for unplanned pregnancy and baby loss where needed. Two of our counsellors hold Masters in Psychotherapy. All our counsellors are registered with a professional counselling body and have regular supervisions and oversight. What are your opening times? Counselling is by appointment only. Our office is open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.
How much will it cost? There are no set costs for our service, we are a charitable organisation and simply ask for donations to help us continue our service.
