About Talkthru
Talkthru was founded in 1999 out of a story of personal grief and a vision for a safe place to process baby loss.
Jo’s story
In the face of unimaginable loss, there is often profound silence. This silence can leave parents and families feeling isolated, confused, misunderstood and unsupported as they navigate the heartbreaking journey of losing a baby. It was in this quiet space of grief that Jo Naylor realised something needed to change.
When she experienced the loss of her own child, Jo noticed a lack of services available for parents facing similar heartbreak. It was then that a seed was planted - what if there could be a place where no parent ever felt alone in their grief? A place where they could find comfort, community and understanding?
Inspired by a passion to fill this gap and a deep empathy for others walking a similar path, Jo established Talkthru in 1999. It has since grown into a lifeline for countless families in the Kirklees and Calderdale area. Today, Talkthru supports people in all walks of baby loss or pregnancy crisis.
Our mission is simple yet profound: to provide accessible and compassionate support to families grieving the loss of a baby. Whether through our counselling services, support groups or resources, we stand with families in their darkest hours, offering a light when it’s needed most.
