Baby Loss Certificates

Baby Loss Certificates are here

In February 2024 the government launched baby loss certificates to recognise the loss of a pregnancy before 24 weeks.

This is a huge step forward as part of the Pregnancy Loss Review, published in July 2023 and is just the first move in improving care for parents who have experienced a pre-24-week baby loss.

Certificates can be claimed on a voluntary basis direct from the government website for anyone who has lost a pregnancy in England from 1st September 2018 until present.
There are plans to extend the eligibility for certificates pre-dating September 2018 as soon as they are able.

If you would like to claim a certificate for your own loss, visit https://www.gov.uk/request-baby-loss-certificate
